Britain will start administering COVID-19 vaccines to the clinically vulnerable children, but not all kids, amid ongoing review into the potential side effects of the vaccine, said the government.
Children aged 12 to 15 years who have severe neuro-disabilities, Down′s Syndrome, immunosuppression and multiple or severe learning disabilities will be administered a vaccine, stated vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi. This step has been taken after the advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI). The medicines regulator in Britain has given approval for the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for individuals 12 years of age and above, said Health Secretary Sajid Javid.
